I have a super hard to find Ibanez RG 517 in green flake. This guitar is in amazing condition for its age. These were made for one year in 1996 in blue, green and even more rare, silver flake.

Basically, it's a Japan made RG570. It was given the 517 designation due to the flake finish.

Based on my knowledge, it all seems stock to me except the strap buttons. I actually own all three models, so I have good comparisons. But these guitars are SO good regardless of the amazing finish (any of the RG's with the skunk stripe on the back of the neck seem to just be awesome), and the flake finish so cool, I always have an eye out for them and will grab them up. They really bling when there's lower light because the flake is large.

But that's also how I end up with too may guitars, so it's time for this one to find a home. Here are some details: The overall condition is excellent.

I really don't think it was ever played much. There are 3 small blemishes that I want to call out: on the bottom edge, one on the top, one on the back by the trem cavity (see pics with the pointer). They looks to have been professionally fixed, but I'm not sure. It's really hard to see and photograph - but these finishes are amazing at hiding any playing marks and blemishes. But make sure you check the pics, they tell the whole story. Honestly, the blemishes are so hard to find, you have to move the guitar to the right angle to see them. But I wanted to call it out none the less. The hardware is nice and clean with just some minor tarnish. The frets look new, they have no playing dents at all. No chips on the headstock, no hairline cracks on the back of the headstock where the bolts hold the locking nut in place, there's the typical hair line. Heel crack on the bass side in the finish - which is so common.

The neck is straight, low action, no fret buzz. The rosewood is a great rich color, really nice. The headstock is super clean with no chips. I don't have the trem spring cavity cover. The funny thing is, I refinish guitars all the time.

Flake finishes have become a speciality. Of course, this is a factory finish, but I only mention it, is that if you check my feedback, you'll see what people have had to say about my descriptions and eye for detail.
