Up for sale, a 1997 Squier by Fender Vista Series Venus XII in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. From its sparingly short 1997-98 production run, the Venus XII has the distinction of being a part of Fender's Vista Series, offering some of the most imaginative Fender designs produced in the'90s.

The Venus XII is easily the most outside-the-box offering in the Vista Series, designed by Courtney Love in conjunction with Fender's Custom Shop, and offering the playability and tonal palette of Fender's Electric XII with a body shape that blends Rickenbacker and Fender design parameters. The guitar features a pair of Seymour Duncan-made split coil pickups and numerous bits of hardware that were previously exclusive to the Electric XII, with a proper 12 saddle bridge and corresponding string anchor, as well as the distinctive string guide on the headstock. One of Fender's best XIIs, the Venus offers sweet jangling cut and sparkle, with the kind of clarity and balance that really lets the octave strings shine.

The guitar weighs 8lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, dialed in with fresh D'addario strings and setup for low action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with round shoulders and a bound, jet black rosewood fingerboard, measuring. 860 deep at the 1st fret and. The fretboard boasts flawless original medium jumbo fretwire with its full factory height and perfectly rounded crowns, and the guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2 scale. The nut measures 1 11/16 in width, and the headstock features Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, and the plastic parts are equally clean.

Cosmetic wear is limited to o. Ne decent-sized ding on the back treble-side at the waist, and just a couple tiny additional scuffs in the clear coat of the gloss on the back.
